Happy Things

Hello there! I've decided to try out a new segment where I'll share a quote and a few things that I'm really groovin' on lately. Just ideas or items that bring me joy and/or enlighten my day. Perhaps they'll create a bit of happiness for you, as they have for me!

Judge nothing, you will be happy. Forgive everything, you will be happier. Love everything, you will be happiest.

- Todd and I started doing an "Unplugged Monday" once a week. This means no television and very limited smart-phone use. We spent yesterday listening to music while cooking together, then we chit-chatted and caught up on some reading and snuggling with Bob. It's amazing how much time you can scrounge up to do the little things (like water the plants), if you just unplug.

- I got a Groupon for YogaDownload.com several months ago and have been using it almost everyday. I really love doing yoga every weekday. It's calming, strengthening, and meditative, all in one. I've decided to cut back on my running, saving it for the weekend when I can run outside with Bailey and Todd. Much better than a stinky ol' treadmill, if you ask me!

 - There's one book in my life that has really changed the way I think about myself. That book is The Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron. "Do you have a keen imagination and vivid dreams? Is time alone each day as essential to you as food and water? Are you "too shy" or "too sensitive" according to others? Do noise and confusion quickly overwhelm you? If your answers are yes, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)." Are you an HSP? Sometimes it's difficult to find the blessings in my "curse", but I'm getting there and this book helped me a lot.

- Todd gifted me a BKR Bottle for Christmas and I'm obsessed with it. I didn't want to buy one for myself because they're kind of spendy. I mean, come on, it's just a little glass bottle with a sleeve! Maybe it's the beautiful shade of petal pink I love so much? Maybe the color reminds me of my wedding dress? I don't know, but it brings me great joy and keeps me hydrated! I'm so happy to have one.

Do you have any "Happy Things" you'd like to share?
